Bethlyn Hand, Senior Vice President of Advertising and Administration for the Motion Picture Association of America, passed away at 85 years old. We mourn her departure from this world, leaving behind her family and colleagues in grief. Read on to find Bethlyn Hand Death Cause.

Reports indicate she took her last breath on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 – shortly after Jack Valenti began his 37-year career as MPA President in 1966.

It is hard to comprehend that Bethlyn Hand took her last breath after such a long battle with cancer.

On February 15th, 2023, several posts on social media confirmed his passing. James Gibbons wrote, “RIP… My dear friend Bethlyn Hand passed away this morning.

She was a proud Texan, dog lover, movie fanatic, daughter, sister, aunt and friend – an all-around amazing human being.

I can’t believe such an amazing life force has gone before us. Safe travels and much love Ms B.” Since her passing was confirmed online by friends and colleagues alike, many paid tribute to her memory while offering condolences to her family members who are going through such hard times due to loss.

Bethlyn Hand passed away from Alzheimer’s disease, a battle she had been fighting for some time. Unfortunately, the MPAA confirmed this diagnosis and Hand was no longer able to fight on.

Her duties at MPAA included authorizing marketing campaigns that met its ratings program’s rules; often this meant studio executives and producers meeting with her and making their cases. In 1990s, The Hollywood Reporter named Hand one of Hollywood’s most influential women.

Born on January 30th 1938, Hand was raised in Houston and attended the University of Texas to study journalism. To work with Valenti, she relocated to Washington D.C. in 1966 before moving to Los Angeles 1975 as head of their advertising department.

Furthermore, Hand served on both sides of the Public Relations coordinating Committee which handled press inquiries during the Oscars.

In addition to her three nieces, Bridget Taylor, Susan Hand, and Catherine Hand, Hand also leaves behind her brother Lloyd and sister-in-law Ann Hand; five great-nieces and nephews; and four great-great nieces and nephews. She will always be remembered by those she left behind – #RIPBethlynHand
