Why Did Gianfranco Lanci Die?
Most people are curious about Lanci’s career, who joined the computer company Acer in 2001 after rising to the position of president of Texas Instruments in EMEA.
He later was named president and CEO in 2008 and was well-known for his frank manner.
When he told the Financial Times in 2008 that “the entire industry is upset” with the operating system, he was one of the first executives to publicly criticize Microsoft over Windows Vista.
He was credited with guiding Acer into the No. 2 position among laptop PC manufacturers during his six-year tenure there.
After a disagreement with the board in 2011 on the company’s future course, Lanci decided to quit the organization and later joined Lenovo.
He made it easier for the business to compete in the German market. Lanci was then appointed head of the EMEA Group by the board.
Before departing the company in September 2021, he attained the positions of president and COO.
Along with this, he also owned a collection of wineries and 80 hectares of vineyards in the Italian regions of Monferrato and Langhe.
