After months of rumors, HBO finally revealed the fourth episode of its Emmy-winning anthology crime drama, True Detective: Night Country.

Kali Reis, a human rights activist and professional boxing champion, will co-star with Jodie Foster, an Oscar-winning actress.

The Emmy-nominated crime-thriller anthology series “True Detective” Season 4 will feature the 35-year-old actress. HBO would host the television show’s premiere.

Kali Reis To Star Opposite Jodie Foster in S4 of ‘True Detective’

The WBA and WBO junior welterweight champion Kali Reis is returning to Hollywood after being chosen to play one of the leads in Season 4 of “True Detective” on HBO, opposite Jodie Foster, who has won two Oscars for best actress.

The fourth season of the show, which will be formally titled “True Detective: Night Country” and be shot in Iceland, was revealed by the cable network.

Alongside Foster’s Detective Liz Danvers, Reis will play Detective Evangeline Navarro as they look into the disappearance of six men in Ennis, Alaska.

Seven Emmy nominations were made for the anthology crime series “True Detective” in its first season, which starred Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey.

Both McConaughey and Harrelson serve as executive producers for the program.

Barry Jenkins, who wrote and directed the Academy Award-winning film “Moonlight,” is also an executive producer alongside Issa Lopez, who serves as writer, director, and showrunner.

Reis, who made her acting debut in the independent film “Catch the Fair One” in 2021—a plot she assisted in developing—is playing yet another significant role.

At the Tribeca Film Festival, “Catch the Fair One” received the audience award, and Reis was nominated for Best Female Lead at the Independent Spirit Awards.

Reis, 35, last competed on November 19, 2021, defeating Jessica Camara by split decision to win the WBO title and keep the WBA title. She is 19-7-1 with 5 knockouts. On Nov. 6, 2020, Reis defeated Kandi Wyatt and subsequently received the WBA championship by unanimous vote.

After losing to Cecilia Braekhus for the undisputed welterweight title by unanimous decision in 2018, Reis has won her last six fights. Since 2008, Reis has competed in professional boxing.
