As rumours grows that Meghan Markle is planning a presidential run in 2024, a biographer producing a book on her feels it is “probable” she will enter politics.

Tom Bower, an investigative journalist, has reportedly signed a six-figure agreement to publish an unofficial biography of the Duchess of Sussex, and has shared his thoughts on the former Suits actress’s possible run for the White House.

According to the Daily Mail, Bower told Closer magazine, “The thought of Meghan running for president is possible and I’d even say likely.” “I’m convinced that’s where she sees herself headed.”

Bower is well-known for penning unofficial biographies of high-profile personalities such as Meghan’s father-in-law, Prince Charles, and various British prime ministers, as well as tycoon Sir Richard Branson.

He feels the duchess, who is expecting her second child, possesses “all the traits” necessary for a White House post, including ambition, self-confidence, and public speaking abilities. Bower stated that she “planned” a new life in California for herself, Prince Harry, and their baby Archie.

He did warn, though, that Meghan is “obviously sensitive,” and that she would struggle to “handle the heat” that comes with becoming a high-profile politician.

“They’re definitely the people who get the most flak,” Bower continued. “I believe she would have a hard time. She’d have to get used to the heat.”

Bower also stated that if Meghan were to pursue a political career, she would want a dedicated team of staff and advisers, citing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s chief of staff’s recent retirement and bullying allegations from a palace aide.

“We’ve seen from news about her employees quitting and leaving that she doesn’t seem to be able to keep her team,” Bower added.

Bookmakers are already giving odds on the duchess winning the election in 2024, but not on whether she would formally declare her candidacy.

Meghan is a 66-1 underdog on one site, while she is a 200-1 underdog on another.

Former President Donald Trump has stated that if Meghan runs for president in 2024, it will make his decision to run for re-election simpler.

When asked about allegations that the duchess had visited with senior Democratic officials to explore entering politics on Fox News earlier this month, Trump claimed he was “not a fan” of Meghan.

“Well, I hope it occurs because I believe I’d have an even stronger feeling about running if that happened,” Trump told Fox’s Maria Bartiromo.

“Her music does not appeal to me. I believe she is referring to the royal family and the queen, and I believe she is referring to the queen, as you are aware. I met with the queen, and I believe she’s a fantastic person, albeit I’m not a fan of Meghan.”
