1. Canada, Quebec, (January 30 to February 15, 2015)

The French-Canadian city of the Quebec which hosts the third largest carnival celebration in the world, despite the cold of the winter months. The Canadians are celebrated their Lent-related festival well before the rest of the world, so you should book ahead for the year 2015, as this year’s jaunt finishes this weekend on February 16. There are plenty of the outdoor events to enjoy from the ice skating to dog-sledding, as well as the parades, masked balls and also the ice sculpting competitions.

It is the largest of all the carnivals and the fiestas in Spain which takes place on the Tenerife, the most popular cheap holiday destination in the Canary Islands. It is originating back to the 18th century, this is a huge event for the Tenerifstas and it is centred on the capital in the north east of the island. All-night parades and the parties continue for up to a week and in eachyear,there is a theme – this year it is cartoons. The finale is the funeral and the burial of the sardine, a giant papier mâché fish.
